Comparing published figures

Gold, yen and fuel prices reproduces values published by central banks and Japanese government agencies, recorded daily and drawn as 90-day charts: the gold spot price, USD/JPY and EUR/JPY, and the national average pump price for regular, premium and diesel. Each series follows its publisher's own schedule, so some move every weekday and some only once a week.

Three further data pages exist in Japanese only: petrol, diesel and kerosene prices for all 47 prefectures (updated weekly, with a page per prefecture), rice transaction prices by growing region and brand (updated monthly), and the minimum wage for all 47 prefectures (revised once a year, with monthly and annual equivalents). All three are tables of published government figures, so the numbers are usable even if you do not read Japanese.

Working something out for your own situation

Japan income thresholds takes an annual employment income and shows which income tax, residence tax and social insurance thresholds it crosses — useful because the rules change in stages between 2026 and 2027. Streamer revenue estimator reads public channel statistics from a URL and applies a fixed rate per thousand views. That figure is an estimate, not actual earnings.

Reworking a file you already have

ID Photo Maker turns a phone snapshot into an ID photo at Japanese resume, passport, driving licence or US visa proportions. Finding the face, levelling the head, replacing the background and fitting a suit to the detected shoulders all happen inside the browser, so the picture is never uploaded. Those three are the only things it changes; the face itself is left alone. The Base64 converter also works on the spot, but that page does log what you type into it.

Searching by place and distance

Municipalities within a radius takes your current location or a municipality as the center and lists every Japanese municipality inside the distance you choose, nearest first. It suits drawing up a shortlist of areas to live in, or defining a delivery or sales territory. Distances are straight lines, with rough walking and driving times alongside.

What they have in common

• No account, no install. Open a page and it works. Nothing costs anything.
• Calculation happens in your browser. Values you enter are not sent away to be computed. The exception is the Base64 converter, which logs what you type — see the privacy policy.
• Figures come with a source, a unit and a date. Units are easy to mistake, and getting one wrong changes the order of magnitude, so the assumptions are written out in the body text.
• Unofficial pages say so. The VSPO! collaboration map is an unofficial fan page and says so in its title, its body text and its FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee or a sign-up?

Neither. Every page is free and works without an account, a login or an app. Running costs are covered by the advertising shown on the pages.

Is what I type stored?

Only the Base64 converter stores anything: the conversion direction and the plain-text side of the input. No other page sends what you enter or what you click. Calculations and lookups happen inside your browser.

Are all pages available in Japanese too?

Thirteen pages have both an English and a Japanese version, and the language link at the bottom of every page switches between them. These are Japanese only: petrol prices by prefecture, rice prices by brand, and the minimum wage list. They are tables of published figures, so the numbers stay usable without Japanese.
